If you are unable to attend a Karen O’Neal clinic or private lessons, virtual training may be an option for you.
There are two popular methods for virtual training; The “iPhone/cameraman method” and “Robot cameraman method”. Both methods require the student to have good WiFi or LTE coverage at the arena where they’ll ride during the virtual training. And both methods require the rider to wear a Bluetooth headset or earbuds during the lesson. The remaining differences depend on which method is used during the virtual training.
The “iPhone and Cameraman Method” requires that the student-rider solicit a person to be the “cameraman”. The cameraman uses an iPhone and FaceTime to film/stream the ride to Karen. During the ride the student receives realtime instruction and feedback from Karen via their Bluetooth headset (connected to the iPhone being used by the cameraman).
The “Robot Cameraman Method” is very similar to the method above, but employs a robot cameraman such as the Move’N See PIXEM Robot Cameraman or the PIXIO Robot Cameraman. The PIXIO and PIXEM are auto-follow cameras that film moving targets both indoors and outdoors with a range of 100m, a fully automatic zoom and an unrivaled accuracy and eliminate the need to have a dedicated cameraman. Depending on connection quality, a second phone may be necessary for the student-rider to communicate with Karen during the lesson when employing the Move’N See solution. If you’re interested in the Move’N See option, click here for more information about the requirements.
If you’re interested in taking a virtual lesson with Karen, verify your arena’s WiFi or LTE connection speeds (you can use a popular Internet speed-test utility such as speedtest.net) and contact us.
